A car dealership or local vehicle distributor is a business that sells new cars and/or used cars at the retail level. It employs automobile salespeople to do the selling. Used car brokers and lots purchase their inventory at weekly auto auctions. They purchase the used vehicles at wholesale price, have them trucked by auto carrier to their town, then mark up the price to make a profit.
